| I think Tilda Swinton would make an excellent Dr Randle. Laura Fraser as Clio/Scout and Gary Bakewell as Eric Sanderson. See Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere for those last too. Laura Fraser also played the blacksmith in A Knight's Tale. I think almost all the rolls should be played by British actors, or at least actors from the UK, with the exception of Mr Nobody. Mr Nobody reminds me of the over obsessive office worker type. The not quite big top business man. Perfect roll for an American. I worked in an office setting for awhile, almost a year, customer call center for a major bank. I hated it. Therefore, I think I should play Mr Nobody. (My arguments sounded so much better in my head. Oh well. ) |

Point taken! --I would most certainly jump to play Lamppost #4 if it meant having something to do on the set of this epic.
I really wanted to get to see who other people envisioned as the characters, so keep posting!! --And feel free to add pictures. It's more convincing, and I'm all about visual communicado.

| when i was reading the book at first I was thinking Christian bale for eric..but as it went on it switched to Ewan Mcgregor at one point then to a totally made up face in my head...as far as Scout/Clio was concerned..I was thinking somewhere along the lines of Alexis Bledel or Carla Gugino. or someone with that type of look. |

Callum Blue as Eric Sanderson, I think this guy really works as Eric. |

Natalie Portman (with a good english accent) - Clio/Scout
I too think its important that the actors be brittish. With the exception of dr. randle.
What about Johnny Depp for Eric? too attractive I think. Although Im sure he'd do a good job. Eric should be normal.
Ed Norton? too old maybe. |
